Painting.
Nothing scares me more and is as exhilarating as painting. The feel of the paints. The textures one can derive at. The manipulation of colors to arrive at some emotional resonance. The combining of objects and collage. It's possibilities are limitless.
I prefer to paint on wood as that provides me with a strong core to explore adding other materials, such as metal, found objects, paper, twine, photos, etc. So that I can really get in there and carve out a statement with the piece.
Digital Painting is an extension of my photo-manipulation skills and has become useful now, more so as a tool to get me to a physical painting. Though, on the rare occasion one stands out on its own and becomes a work of art.
