I am grounded behind a camera.  Regardless of subject, or any after effect processing that I might do, capturing the right moment with the camera is key.

There is an emotional essence to a good photograph.  I strive for that.  To create an image that has emotional resonance.

​

Sometimes, I use found objects, photographing the world around me.  Sometimes, I will collage images to create something else entirely.  Sometimes, I paint on the pictures I take.  Sometimes, I manipulate the photograph using all these techniques to create concepts and worlds that did not exist until I birthed it.  Sometimes, I have to leave the image alone, because it is what it is, and that is more than enough.  

 

I have wide and varying tastes when it comes to climbing behind a lens. My simple belief is that I can create anything.  A camera gives me hope.  The world is a moving picture show, the body is a landscape, and I am usually never satisfied by anything I make.

So I keep striving to find that elusive "something", that honestly, I hope I never find.  A photograph is never the end image...it's always the journey.
