I hiked 5 miles to take this shot. And had to cross a very cold river, twice. I was filming secondary scenes for my film, Committing Poetry in Times of War, and needed a nice panoramic shot of Jemez. While there, I saw this interesting looking ledge and decided to hike for it. After shooting all the panoramic shots that I needed for the film, I noticed the light hitting a small cactus near the edge of the cliff. It was stunning. So, I took a couple pictures of it, coming away with a truly beautiful photograph. That I then spent several weeks destroying so that it would look like a piece of found film.
